On Sunday, May 18, former Wharton High School standout Jake Turer’s current collegiate team the Tampa Spartans won 9-8 against the Mississippi Choctaws in the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.

The game took place at UT Baseball Field at 1 p.m. and was the third matchup against the Mississippi Choctaws in the tournament.

The Tampa Spartans’ next game will take place on Thursday, May 22 at 12 p.m. at UT Baseball Field.
