The South Florida men’s golf team has been selected to compete in the NCAA Regionals for the third consecutive season, according to a May 6 announcement by the selection committee.
The regional tournament will be held at Ohio State University Golf Club in Columbus, Ohio, from May 18 to May 20. Teams joining South Florida include Florida, Arizona State, Stanford, Long Beach State, Florida State, Utah, South Carolina, California, Memphis, Oregon, Illinois State and Wright State. There will not be a live stream of the event; however, live statistics will be available on Clippd.
Head coach Steve Bradley said: “We are excited and looking forward to going to Ohio State for NCAA Regionals. The golf course is long and hard, and I think that plays to our strengths as a team. The goal at the beginning of the year is to qualify for the NCAA postseason and then qualify for the national championship. I’m confident in this team that our best golf is yet to come.”
South Florida recently finished fourth at the American Championship with a score of 24-under 840. Wilhelm Ryding led the Bulls with an eighth-place finish at nine-under par (207). USF currently holds No. 52 in the NCAA men’s golf team rankings and is ranked second-highest among teams from its conference according to Clippd.
Ryding was named American Conference Player of the Year after leading his team with a stroke average of 69.90; he ranks No. 61 nationally among individual players and is currently highest-ranked within his conference according to Clippd.
This marks head coach Bradley’s eleventh appearance at NCAA Regionals as a head coach—ten times with South Florida and once previously with Mercer in 2014.
