Cheerspoms

Hillsborough County Public Schools issued the following announcement on Feb. 12.

There were several exciting firsts for Hillsborough County at the National High School Cheerleading Championships in Orlando, as high schools from our district made a strong showing, picking up a championship title in the process.

Strawberry Crest took home the UCA National Championship in the Small Varsity Coed Division. It is the first national championship for any sport in school history.

Plant City High School placed 6th in the Small Varsity Division 1.

Bloomingdale and Plant High Schools both made their first trips to the national championships in school history.

East Bay, Durant, and Alonso joined those teams to represent Hillsborough County at the most prestigious high school cheerleading competition in the country.

"That's one of the most exciting parts is just being part of all Hillsborough County teams that are representing our county. We are a powerful county when it comes to cheerleading," said Bloomingdale Head Coach Tracy DiPrima.

Congratulations to these talented athletes for representing our district in the national spotlight!
