Plant City Police Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 24.
Chief of Police James M. Bradford and the Plant City Police Department, extend our deepest condolences to Sheriff Grady Judd and the men and women of the Polk County Sheriff's Office, as they mourn the line-of-duty death of Deputy Sheriff Christopher Broadhead.
Deputy Broadhead contracted COVID-19 and bravely battled the virus for several weeks, before he passed away August 23, 2021. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues during this difficult time.
