120-Day Road Closure for Burke St. Gravity Main Replacement on October 1, 2021

Roadwork

County of Hillsborough recently issued the following announcement.

DATE: October 1, 2021 12:00 AM | All Day

A temporary 120-day road closure for sections of Burke Street between Manhattan Avenue and Occident Street is planned for early 2022.

A temporary 120-day road closure for sections of Burke Street is necessary to perform work for the Burke Street Gravity Main Replacement Project. The sewer system in this area has severe cracks and damage that cannot be repaired.

The road closures will occur in sections of Burke Street between Manhattan Avenue and Occident Street in three phases as the damaged sewer pipe is excavated and replaced. Each section will be completed before moving on to the next segment to minimize disruption to residents and limit the number of individual homes impacted at any one time.

The road will be open to local traffic only and emergency vehicles. Through traffic will not be allowed.

The BOCC will consider the road closure request for Burke Street at the BOCC Regular Meeting on November 3, 2021.
