Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office issued the following announcement on Jan. 12.
District I deputies were dispatched to a vehicle burglary near the HCSO / Tampa Police Department jurisdictional border. Multiple suspects broke into a vehicle and stole a purse containing credit cards, AirPods, and other personal items. Suspect information was provided to TPD who went above and beyond to circulate the area in their jurisdiction!
While HCSO deputies were processing the scene, TPD officers located the suspects who ran from them upon sight of their patrol vehicles. The suspects were apprehended by TPD officers. They were in possession of the stolen property, and the suspects were returned to HCSO to face charges.
This is one of many examples of how HCSO and TPD continue to work together to protect the community. If it wasn’t for the TPD officers' help, these suspects would have continued breaking into cars in the area. Thank you, deputies and officers!
