When 68-year-old Astrid Strick sees an acquaintance killed in an accident, she decides it's time to reveal the secret she's been keeping from her children, before it's too late. At the same time, her adult children are dealing with secrets and struggles of their own. Her oldest son is engaged in a hush-hush business deal, while her daughter is pregnant and having an affair with a high school flame. Her youngest son sends his teenage daughter, Cecilia, to live with Astrid following an incident at her school. At thirteen, Cecelia finds herself dealing with her own challenges as she tries to fit in. In All Adults Here, Emma Straub brings humor and insight to a multigenerational tale of what it means to get older and tackle the milestones of aging and adulthood.
