Announcement

Juneteenth was designated as a federal holiday last year to celebrate the end of slavery in the US. Note that City offices, including City Hall, Omar K Lightfoot Center and the Library, will be closed on Monday, June 20 in observance of Juneteenth.

There will be no trash pickup on that day. The Family Rec Complex will be open from 8am – 4pm.

To recognize Juneteenth and its importance to American history, Lajun M. Cole, Sr., Senior Pastor of Contagious Church and his wife and Co-Pastor Valora Shaw-Cole accepted a proclamation from Mayor Ross and the City Council at the last Council meeting.
