"Every little bit helps!"

The Riverview High School baseball team is gearing up to help those impacted by Hurricane Ian in Southwest Florida. Over the next week, they will gather non-perishable food and essential personal items.

Helping those impacted by hurricanes is not new to Riverview's head baseball coach, Jason Smith.

Back in 2017, he put together a similar donation drive after noticing the impacts Hurricane Maria had on his players and their families.

Donations can be dropped off (Oct. 1 and 2) from noon to 5 p.m. at the RHS baseball field or Monday through Friday at the main office during school hours.
