The South Florida men’s golf team will compete in its final regular season tournament at the Wofford Invitational, scheduled for April 12-14 at the Country Club of Spartanburg. The three-round event will see teams play 18 holes each day, with tee times set for 8:30 a.m. on the first two days and 9 a.m. for the final round.
This tournament marks an important opportunity for South Florida as it prepares for postseason play. The Bulls will face a field of 13 teams, including No. 19 USC Aiken and several regional programs.
South Florida’s lineup includes Wilhelm Ryding, Jackson Spybey, Hugo Trommetter, Roman Solomon, and Nino Palmquist, with Matthew Joseph competing as an individual. Ryding leads the team with a stroke average of 69.87 and is ranked No. 45 in NCAA Division I men’s individual rankings by Clippd. He recently earned his third American Conference Men’s Golf Player of the Week award this season after finishing second at the Calusa Cup.
Spybey follows closely with a stroke average of 70.57 and is tied with Ryding for most rounds at par or better this year (19). Trommetter recorded his best round of the season (4-under-par) at Calusa Cup while Solomon has three rounds in the sixties this year and seven rounds at par or better overall.
Palmquist boasts eight rounds in the sixties this season along with a win at Saint Leo Invitational earlier in February; he finished tied for twenty-third place in their last outing at Calusa Cup after closing strong with a three-under-par final round.
The USF men’s golf program has achieved significant success historically under head coach Steve Bradley—winning six American Athletic Conference Tournament championships since he took over in 2014 and producing multiple All-America honorees as well as nine consecutive NCAA Regional appearances from 2013 to 2022.
