The South Florida men’s golf team will participate in the Linger Longer Invitational, hosted by Mercer, from March 20 to 22 at the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Lake Oconee, according to a March 19 announcement. The tournament will feature three rounds with 18 holes played each day, beginning at 8:30 a.m.

This event is significant for the Bulls as they face a competitive field of 18 teams, including nationally ranked programs such as No. 11 Vanderbilt, No. 16 Alabama, and No. 19 Charlotte. Other participating schools include Elon, Georgia, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, Mercer, Ohio State, Rutgers, South Alabama, UNC Greensboro, Virginia Tech, Wofford, and West Georgia.

South Florida’s lineup for the tournament includes Wilhelm Ryding, Jackson Spybey, Nino Palmquist, Roman Solomon, and Joshua Stewart. Gunnar Green will compete as an individual. Ryding leads the team with a stroke average of 69.86 and is ranked No. 41 in NCAA Division men’s individual rankings by Clippd. Spybey follows with a stroke average of 70.24 and leads the team with thirteen rounds at par or better.

Palmquist has posted a stroke average of 71.29 this season and won the Saint Leo Invitational earlier this year with a score of fourteen-under-par over three rounds. Solomon and Stewart have also contributed strong performances throughout the season.

The Bulls recently finished tenth out of sixteen teams at the Hayt Invitational on March 7-9 after shooting nine-under-par and finishing ahead of two top-20 teams—No. 15 Alabama and No. 20 Duke.

The USF men’s golf program has achieved nineteen conference titles and produced nineteen All-America honorees since its inception. Under head coach Steve Bradley—who has been named American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year five times—the Bulls have recorded twenty-five tournament wins including three during the current season.
