Plant City Police Department issued the following announcement on July 14.

We are proud to present this week's officer of the week, Officer “Clem” Fiol.  Officer Fiol is beginning his tenth year of service with PCPD and is currently assigned to the Uniform Patrol Division serving our Plant City community on a day shift patrol squad.

Officer Fiol has served in various roles including the Community Redevelopment Area Officer (CRA) for one year.  Officer Fiol has a passion for helping those in need and motivating young people to focus on education.  Officer Fiol also takes time to check in on the elderly in his zone, helping them cope with the challenges of our changing society.  He takes great pride in forging relationships with members of the Plant City community.

Officer Fiol is a Tampa native and graduated from Hillsborough High School in 1979 and a retired, 18 year deputy with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office.  He’s a big fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning, enjoys the outdoors, traveling with his wife and is the very proud father of four sons,  all who graduated from the University of Florida.

If you see Officer Fiol, stop and say hello.

As always, stay safe Plant City!
