City of Temple Terrace issued the following announcement on July 23.
The Mayor and City Council currently are accepting applications for appointment as an alternate member on the Temple Terrace River Watch Task Force.
The River Watch Task Force was established to better understand and ensure representation in decisions affecting the Hillsborough River. The Task Force's goal is to "preserve, protect, and enhance the Hillsborough River watershed, especially as it impacts the River's water quality and quantity in Temple Terrace."
The River Watch Task Force meets at 4:30pm on the 3rd Monday of each month at City Hall. Additional meetings may be scheduled. This is a five-member committee appointed by the Mayor and Council to serve 3-year terms for up to 3 consecutive terms. Members must be residents of the City and serve without remuneration.

All applications should be returned to the City Clerk, 11250 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace, Florida, 33617 or emailed to LegislativeOffice@templeterrace.com. The closing date for receiving applications is 5pm on July 27 –the Tuesday prior to the City Council meeting at which the appointment been decided.
Equal consideration will be given to persons submitting applications and persons recommended by members of the City Council.
