The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office was awarded a $354,000 traffic safety subgrant by FDOT for the Speed: Know Your Limits Program.
The grant will reimburse HCSO for overtime for deputies, as well as equipment with the purpose of educating the community about speeding and aggressive driving.
Recent enforcement action took place at Lumsden Rd and Heather Lakes BL.
Additionally, the grant provided funds to perform a street racing/aggressive driving operation on February 4. The operation involved multiple #teamHCSO assets and agencies and resulted in 158 traffic stops, 60 citations, 9 arrests, 5 impounded firearms, and 5 impounded vehicles.
